Save My Spot

First live session starts in:

December 8, 2026 · 5:15 PM Eastern

One registration. Either date. 90 minutes to try the work.

In 90 Minutes, You Will:

01 · BUILD IT

Review an AI request so you can explain its risks and recommend safeguards.

You'll use a sample company's records to separate facts from claims, rate two AI risks, choose a control and owner for each, and assess who the AI could affect.

02 · RUN IT

Set approval conditions and monitoring checks so you can show how AI use stays under review.

You'll write the key questions for the vendor and a recommendation with conditions. Then you'll choose what to monitor after approval, who checks it, how often, and what evidence they keep.

03 · AUDIT IT

Compare requirements with evidence so you can write and defend a clear audit finding.

You'll compare a requirement with the company's later records and write a finding in three parts: requirement, evidence, conclusion.

Questions We’ll Work Through

  • How to tell a fact from a claim in an AI vendor's sales material
  • Why a “human will check it” promise needs a record behind it
  • How to assess the effect of an AI tool on people, not only on the company
  • How to connect a requirement, evidence and a conclusion in one finding
Dr. Rose Shumba

Hi, I'm Dr. Rose Shumba

I help GRC, security and IT professionals move into AI governance by practicing the work, not only studying it. I know how frustrating it is to learn the frameworks and still not know how to show an employer you can do the work. I've spent more than 20 years in cybersecurity education, and I'm a PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer and ISO/IEC 27001 Senior Lead Implementer. In this workshop, I'll guide you through the same case-based method I use in my programs.

Who Should Attend

  • You work in GRC, security, privacy, risk or IT, and AI governance work is coming your way.
  • You've read about AI governance, but you're unsure how the work is actually done.
  • You know the terms, but you find it hard to show employers how you'd apply them.
  • You want practical work samples, and a clear idea of whether building or auditing suits you best.

Who May Prefer a Different Starting Point

  • You'd rather watch than write. This workshop is hands-on, and you'll draft your work during the session.
  • You're looking for completed work samples. Here, you draft your own, with guidance.
  • You want to learn coding or AI model building. This workshop focuses on non-coding governance work.

Come ready to participate. Join from a laptop or desktop computer, with the case records and templates open.

Try the Work Before You Invest

A certification course is a big step. Spend 90 minutes doing the work first. You'll find out whether AI governance suits you, and whether building or auditing fits you best. Then you can choose your course with confidence.

About Your Work Samples

The workshop uses a fictional company. Your work samples are simulated exercises that you can finish, improve, and practice explaining. Registration does not include a certification exam or professional certification.

What Learners Say

“What helped most was that I didn't just study the standard. I created pieces of work I could actually show employers, and I could explain every decision in them.”

Kate Hopkins, AI Governance Officer

Ana, Northbank and the company in the guide are fictional. The tasks come from real AI governance work.
