A Message From Dr. Rose

Before you enroll, hear why this course was created.

This short video explains why families need a clearer plan for computing degrees in the AI era, and why parents should understand the path before the key internship and career-readiness windows open.

Start here if you want to understand the heart behind the course and how it helps you guide your child with more confidence.

The Shift

The advice families were given was built for a market that no longer exists.

College counselors are trained to help students get into schools. They are not always trained to show families what happens after the acceptance letter.

In the AI era, employers are looking for more than a diploma. They want proof, projects, judgment, relationships, and readiness before the internship windows open.

This course fills the gap between what families are usually told and what parents actually need to know before making a major computing degree decision.

What parents need to understand before college starts

A short conversation about AI, computing degrees, internship timing, proof of skills, and the parent role in helping students prepare early.

The Vision

Imagine knowing what to do at every stage of your child’s computing degree.

Before College

Choose the right computing path, evaluate the right program, and use the summer before college wisely.

During College

Help your child build proof, relationships, AI judgment, and internship readiness before it is too late.

Before Graduation

Use the year-by-year roadmap to turn grades, projects, and experience into real career options.

Still deciding if this is the right next step?

Watch the free masterclass first. It explains why a computing degree alone is no longer enough, what AI has changed, and how families can help students build proof before the key internship windows open.

What You Walk Away With

By the time you finish, your family will have eight completed tools.

1

AI-Era Computing Reality Check
Understand the market and write your family position statement.

2

Computing Path Match
Choose a primary path and backup based on how your child thinks.

3

Program Evaluation Scorecard
Compare up to three programs using evidence, not reputation.

4

Summer Readiness Plan
Build a calm plan for math, path confirmation, one project, and rest.

5

Internship Readiness Plan
Know the windows and start the 30-Day Internship Launch Plan.

6

Hidden Curriculum Blueprint
Build habits around energy, proof, relationships, and AI judgment.

7

Year-by-Year Roadmap
Know the focus and key action for each semester.

8

90-Day Family Action Plan
Turn everything into one signed plan your family can follow.

Why Waiting Costs More

Every semester without a plan widens the gap.

  • A student in the wrong computing path can lose time, tuition, and confidence.
  • A student in a weak program may miss the relationships and opportunities that matter.
  • A student who learns about internship windows too late may start senior year searching instead of choosing.
  • A student with grades but no proof enters a job market where AI has changed entry-level work.

The Parent Question

One question tells you if your family needs this course.

“Tell me about one project on your resume or your GitHub. Explain it to me like I know nothing about computing.”

If your child gives a clear, confident answer, they may already be building useful proof. If the answer is vague, or if there is nothing to explain yet, this course shows you what needs to be built and when.

This is for you if:

  • Your child is considering a computing career.
  • Your child is already in college and you feel behind.
  • You want to choose a program using evidence, not just reputation.
  • You do not have a tech background and need a parent-friendly system.
  • You want a clear plan instead of scattered advice.

This is not for you if:

  • Your child has already finished their degree.
  • You are looking for coding lessons.
  • You want a quick-fix promise instead of a practical planning system.
  • You are not willing to complete the workbook with your child.

What Families Are Saying

Families need a clearer path.

“When I started college, I had no idea what I was doing. I did not know what field I wanted, what employers were looking for, or what I should be building. Dr. Shumba’s program helped me get direction.”

— College computing student

“We used the scorecard on three schools we were seriously considering. One had gaps we would never have caught on our own. My daughter starts next fall with a clearer direction and a plan.”

— Parent, Maryland
FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need to understand technology to use this course?
No. Every tool was built for parents. You do not need a technical background.
My child does not know which computing field they want.
That is exactly what Module 2 is for. You will identify a primary direction and a backup.
My child is already a junior or senior. Is it too late?
It is not too late, but the calendar matters more. Module 7 includes a 90-day track for families starting late.
What is the Family Workbook?
It is one workbook with eight sections. By Module 8, you have a signed 90-Day Family Action Plan.
Is the course self-paced?
Yes. You get access immediately and can move through the course at your own pace.

Your child’s internship window opens earlier than most families realize.

The families who are ready for that moment did not start getting ready at the last minute. They started early.
