ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer

Many organizations now use AI to answer customers, screen job applications and support decisions. A growing number seek ISO/IEC 42001 certification to show customers and partners that they manage AI responsibly.

ISO/IEC 42001 is the international standard for managing AI in an organization. It sets out how an organization gives people clear roles for AI and assesses the risks and impacts of each AI system. The organization then checks and improves how it uses AI over time. This way of working is called an AI management system, or AIMS. An implementer is the person who plans the AIMS and puts it in place.

The PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer training course equips you to establish, operate and improve an AI management system based on ISO/IEC 42001. You translate governance requirements into policies, responsibilities and organizational processes. The course suits implementation teams, AI governance leaders and advisors.

Build Your Portfolio

Pair this course with the ISO 42001 Lead Implementer Portfolio from The Tech Academy. At your own pace, you build portfolio pieces on TechFlow, a fictional company, following the work of implementing an AI management system, including an AI risk register and a risk treatment plan. Written feedback from Dr. Rose Shumba helps you strengthen each piece, and office hours every two weeks help you complete your work and explain your decisions. We recommend building your portfolio before you sit the exam, because the work strengthens what you know.
