How Every Program Works
Build and Defend It
Each step produces one portfolio piece. For every piece, you complete four items: the task or problem, in your own words; the tasks you completed yourself; the decisions you made and why; and what the work demonstrates. Each piece carries a "Simulated project" line at the top.
Use It Professionally
For each step, you record a short video on your phone. You answer one career question, as if speaking to an interviewer, or one advisory question, as if speaking to a potential client. You plan your answer with Problem, Action, Result (PAR). Recording your answers builds your presentation skills.
Worked Examples
Worked examples from Riverside Accounting, a fictional firm, show the approach. Use them when you need help or want to check your work.
Written Feedback
You submit each step's written work and video together. Dr. Rose Shumba returns written feedback within 3 working days. Your feedback support lasts 90 days from enrollment, and each step receives one written review. Each program page lists how many steps you can submit at a time.
Office Hours
Dr. Rose Shumba holds office hours every two weeks for portfolio learners. Bring your questions about completing your work, explaining your decisions and applying what you learned. You receive the schedule when you enroll.
Finish Your Portfolio
You choose your best three pieces and share them as PDFs with employers or clients.
